The only Latin American winemaker to obtain 100 points from Robert Parker, Marcelo Pelleriti is a tour de force. His day job is winemaker at Monteviejo and the Bordeaux properties of the Pere-Verge family, Chateau Le Gay in Pomerol. We featured his Signature Malbec as April's Wine of the Month, but for the holidays, we're highlighting his work at the Kauzo Estate. A terroir expression project, using single vineyard sites throughout the Uco Valley to showcase an amazing vintage (2018), his La Consulta is a pure, elegant red that easily compares with $50+ Napa Reds. We think it's one of the best we've ever tasted, with huge aromatics of red fruits, strawberry, cherry and plum, complemented by crisp minerality and lifting acidity.
