Who doesn't love a great value Cabernet Sauvignon, especially this time of year! If you've never had a wine from Bruno Prats before, 92 points for $16.99 is a good place to start. Pratz is the former owner of Chateau Cos d'Estournel in Bordeaux, and modulates the power of the Maipo Valley fruit with a Bordelaise finesse. Brilliant ruby with spice-laced aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and lavender, becoming smokier and spicier with aeration and finishes juicy and precise. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels before release, you rarely find the combination of old vines and oak aging in a sub-$20 wine.
"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is peachy and floral, expressive, open and aromatic with herbal varietal notes and a medium-bodied, soft and elegant palate, with fine-grained tannins and a soft texture.
