One of the most prolific winemakers in France is Bernard Magrez. Born in Bordeaux in 1936, he acquired Chateau Pape Clement, a famous Grand Cru Classe of Graves in the 1980's as well as Chateau Fombrauge in Saint-Emilion, Chateau La Tour Carnet, and Clos Haut Peraguey, a Premier Grand Cru Classe of Sauternes. His wines are classic, yet distinctive and instantly recognizable. This Sauvignon Blanc is light to medium bodied and displays intense scents of pear and apple, while citrus fruit aromas bring freshness and a delicate crisp finish. With demand for French Sauvignon Blanc at an all time high, and supply scare for the top wines of Sancerre, the Bleu de Mer is an amazing find for the price!
